India's leading tech giants, such as Google, Facebook, Amazon and Tata Consultancy Services, are promising to create crores of jobs through new research and workforce programs in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). These initiatives include AI training, data annotation, machine learning model development and ethical AI forums, targeting professionals at every level from developing engineers to software architects.
The government has also decided to increase investment capital to boost the AI ecosystem under the Digital India 2025 plan, providing easy access to funding and talent pipeline to startups and SMEs. This is giving rise to jobs based on technical skills as well as new roles within the ‘AI‑literate’ ecotom, such as ML model validators, AI auditors, data privacy consultants, etc.
