After the death of local social worker Bharat Bhushan Tiwari (28) in a police encounter in Bhojpur district of Bihar, the state government has ordered a judicial inquiry. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary on June 20 announced the formation of an inquiry commission under the chairmanship of a retired judge of the Patna High Court. This incident took place on June 17 in Biloti village of Shahpur police station area. Police claim that he pointed a pistol at the team that reached Tiwari's house on specific information, climbed on the roof, challenged the police and opened fire while running towards the fields, in response to which the police fired in self-defense. Tiwari was shot in the leg and died during treatment. However, family members and local people protested, calling the incident a fake encounter.
